Three weaknesses of Styrofoam

Styrofoam has three major fatal weaknesses:

1.) The Styrofoam is non- biodegradable

Styrofoam will remain it state as it is from the day you throw it even until hundred of years, it is hard to be recycled also, so, people mainly treat it by the land fill method, and subsequently, increase the land fill, and thus, damage our environment.

2.) The Styrofoam is toxic

Styrofoam may easily solute into the fat that contain in the food, and very prompt to be consume by the consumer, this can cause cancer after a long term of usage.

3.) The Styrofoam keep the food warm

This seems to be a good phenomena, but actually, it is not, by making the food harder to be cool down, it encourage the bacteria inside the food to grow at a faster rate, thus, the bacteria produce more toxic to the food, and this may cause food poisoning to the consumer, so, if you are using the Styrofoam as a food container, be sure that you do not left the food over for too long period.

Since the Styrofoam have so many bad effect, is it we should be stop using it? There are still many material can be used as the replacement for Styrofoam, for example, paper.
